Take a drive through King, and you’ll see that small-town America does still exist today, complete with friendly people, a vibrant and beautiful historic downtown, and a strong sense of community. Even with a relatively small population of about 7,000 people, the city of King is alive with events, shops and restaurants that make the quality of life here enviable by other small towns.
You’ll find concerts by the Winston-Salem Symphony Orchestra at the Central Park Amphitheater, community events including Kingfest in the fall and a Christmas parade down Main Street every year, and locally owned restaurants such as the Town and Country Grille that serves up great food in a family atmosphere.
King is unique in that it is located in two counties, Forsyth and Stokes. This provides plenty of opportunities for its residents to take advantage of services in both counties. King Elementary School, is part of the Stokes County school system. In addition to the school, the King Public Library and the Recreation Acres park are great resources for residents.
